If you know me by now I love my job. Between Ted Gibson Salon 5th Ave, working with celebrities, The Ted Gibson Advanced Academy, The Ted Gibson Artistic Team. I keep very busy and I love it so much.
Hair is all about texture right now. That’s what I wanted to create on St Vincent for this billboard cover shoot. It is their 1st fashion issue and with the combination Of St Vincent Marc Jacobs and Hype Williams you see they have created something cool for the Fall 2016 season
I started off blow drying her hair with STARRING Runway Ready Volume Mist from Mid Lengths to ends. Then applied Kerastase Mousse Bouffant over top of that. I took 1 inch sections to blowdry her entire head. Using a flat brush I smoothed everything out including her bangs. I created a center part with my tail comb. I always have a tail comb in my back pocket when I am on set just in case I need to add more volume of smooth anything out while I am working.
To create this texture I needed to use my favorite hair pins from Paris.. They are sexy ribbed to perfection and hold hair like no bodies business. I started off by taking 2 inch box sections and doing a figure 8 around each hair pin. The trick is after doing this you heat each pin with hair in it with a hot flatiron. Let them cool then unravel each one.
I used my hands and a brush to loosen up the texture to give it the coolest downtown vibe.
Followed up with STARRING Fixed On you Finishing Spray
